Scores off bench against Panama
Budimir scored one goal to go with one shot (one on goal) in Tuesday's 1-0 victory versus Panama.
Analysis: Budimir served as a backup option for the second straight game, but he finally got his first minutes in the tournament and took advantage of the opportunity to notch a game-winning finish in the 54th minute. He took Petar Musa's place at the beginning of the second half, and the goal came from his lone attempt in the game. The next clash against Ghana will present a solid chance for the Osasuna striker to remain productive as he challenges Musa for the No. 9 spot.
Shoud have decent role with Croatia
Budimir is expected to see consistent minutes with Croatia at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Analysis: Budimir is coming off another prolific season with Osasuna in the 2025/26 LaLiga, tallying 17 goals across 37 appearances (35 starts) and averaging 2.78 shots per contest. Croatia has a lot of versatility in the attack, so they could go with a traditional No. 9 in Budimir or a more creative option in Andrej Kramaric to lead the line. However, Budimir should get a fair amount of minutes one way or another.
